The Radio Research and Development Institute (NIIR) has completed the testing of the Russian LTE base station in the 2.3-2.4 GHz band. The tests were conducted using “the real network segment with a Rostelecom core”. VoLTE voice calls were successfully tested along with data transmission in different use cases.

According to the experts of NIIR, the data transmission rate on the subscriber device reached 40 Mbps with 10 MHz channel width. The specialists also say the “characteristics of the base station are on par with those of international-level equipment”.

Earlier it was reported that the Radio Research and Development Institute had created an energy-independent mounting. The mounting can be located in a place without power grids, and telecom equipment can be installed on it.
