According to PwC forecasts, 51% of companies in the world and 42% in Russia plan to increase the number of cybersecurity specialists within the next year, RBC reports. A significant number of companies - 22% in the world and 18% in Russia - plan to increase their staff in this area by 5% or more.
Moreover, in 2021 55% of executives in the world and 52% in Russia plan to increase spending on cybersecurity. This will happen despite the fact that the majority of organizations (64%) expect a drop in revenue. A significant number of companies - 26% in the world and 23% in Russia - will have to achieve better results at lower costs. 13% of executives from all over the world and 17% from Russia will have to work with the same budgets.
The growing demand for cybersecurity specialists is also confirmed by HeadHunter - the number of job vacancies for such specialists in Russia is growing at double-digit rates. For the whole 2018 more than 17 thousand such job vacancies appeared, while from January to October 2020 there were almost 30 thousand new vacancies.
Natalia Golovanova, head of SuperJob research center, notes that now cybersecurity specialists and managers are in high demand in IT and financial companies.
