Rostec creates a consortium of 5G equipment developers

February 1, 2021, 12:29 (UTC+3)|

Rostec has started to create a consortium of equipment developers for 5G networks. All Russian manufacturers were invited to participate. 10 Russian companies - developers of radio-electronic equipment - expressed their readiness to participate in cooperation. However, the specific names of the companies were not disclosed.

According to the director of the state corporation for special assignments Vasily Brovko, in the development of individual elements of systems for 5G, manufacturers will use private technical specifications. The enterprises included in the consortium will have the opportunity to offer their software, antenna or other element of the base station. After evaluating the effectiveness of this solution, the manufacturer of the final product can use it.

In September last year, Rostec presented a 5G base station model. Later, Skoltech showed a working prototype of a base station for 5G and 4G (LTE).
