The Banker (part of Financial Times Group) has recognized Sberbank as the best bank in Central and Eastern Europe in digital banking innovation.

The bank became the winner of the Innovation in Digital Banking Awards 2020 in Best Bank in Central and Eastern Europe for Innovation in Digital Banking category. Sberbank received the award for its three projects: biometric scanners in ATMs, BRIS Utilities Billing Platform and algorithmic orders on the Sberbank Markets platform.

Biometric facial recognition technology allows clients to use self-service devices, make payments and transfer money, withdraw and deposit money without a card, smartphone or any document.

BRIS Utilities billing platform allows to calculate charges for utilities, generate bills for customers, including in electronic form, automate payments processing and further settlements with contractors.

Robotic algorithms - algorithmic orders - are available to the customers of the Sberbank Markets platform to make FX transactions. Such orders help to increase automation, control and transparency of the FX position sizing.
