Sberbank announced that it had signed a memorandum of intent between a mobile virtual operator SberMobile (the brand of Sberbank-Telecom LLC), Tele2 and Huawei. As part of the agreement, a working group will be created to study the technological possibilities of 5G.
Desk study will be conducted in several phases in order to develop new business models in 5G networks, as well as the ways to monetize the technology and the options for scaling and use in various segments and industries. The tests will be carried out jointly with Sberbank ecosystem companies, including Cognitive Pilot, using SberMobile platforms, Tele2 infrastructure and Huawei developments.
The partnership will study possible application of 5G for a smart analytics platform based on artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles fleet management, transport infrastructure and monitoring of agricultural processes. 5G technology will allow to transmit of data video stream from unmanned vehicles for real-time interaction of the vehicle fleet, remote control of equipment and providing an accurate picture in real time based on visual data from the site.
Another area of research is the creation of a digital twin of the city during the construction of the smart quarter in Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye district in Moscow. With the help of Internet of Things technology, a unified situational center for the management of buildings and infrastructure of a smart quarter will be created, as well as systems for monitoring construction work at the sites in real time.
