Skoltech specialists have deployed the country's first autonomous private 5G network in the 4.8-4.99 GHz range using only domestic software.

The solution was created on the basis of software developed by specialists from the The NTI’s Competence Center for Wireless Communication and the Internet of Things for the core network and base station with support for OpenRAN technology. To demonstrate the network operation, a 5G call was made using Voice over New Radio (VoNR) technology.

According to the developers, the 5G solution is intended for private networks and can be used to create communication infrastructure in enterprises. It has now been launched in the band that was allocated to the institute for the 5G pilot zone.
