Swedish telecom company Tele2 AB will not renew the license for the use of Tele2 brand in Russia, which expires in March 2023. Currently, the company is studying the possibility and consequences of early termination of the licensing agreement for the use of the brand concluded with the Russian company T2 Mobile.

T2 Mobile said that the Tele2 brand was used under the current agreement, “there are no grounds for its termination or change”. The company’s spokespersons also say that at the moment there is “no communication” with Tele2 AB on this issue.

In early March it was reported that Tele2 could conduct rebranding due to a refusal to renew the license. About 20 domains with similar names were registered for this purpose.
