Since the beginning of this year, MegaFon has been recording an increase in demand for smart home products in its retail chain.
In physical terms, the indicators increased by 34%, while in monetary terms the demand spiked by 41%. Among the most popular products are smart speakers with voice control. Their share of sales reached 62%. This is followed by intelligent lighting systems with a share of 10.4%, with smart sockets taking third place (6.4%).
In turn, Tele2 clarified that in 2021 the demand for its smart home devices increased by 24% year-on-year. The most in-demand were video surveillance systems, set-top boxes and smart speakers. The latter, according to the company's forecasts, will gain popularity as voice assistants develop, but the leadership will remain with the smartphone.
MTS reported that in the third quarter of 2021, their customers purchased four times more smart devices in the company's showrooms and online stores compared to the same period in 2020. Outlets, light bulbs, and home control centers were the best sellers in this category. Also in demand were humidity and temperature sensors, robotic vacuum cleaners and IP cameras.
According to the preliminary results of the ICT.Moscow poll, in which more than 300 people took part, 35% of respondents do not use smart home devices, another 34% choose Xiaomi products, while 31% prefer Yandex devices.
