The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation announced plans to keep records of computers in all state organisations and structures. The ministry believes that the event will help assess the volume of the country's IT resources, determine the level of data protection used in the systems, and also check the organisation of accounting for property and intellectual rights.

Accounting of IT resources will be implemented using the federal state information system for the coordination of informatisation (FSIS KI). It is reported that, as part of the inventory, the departments will update and provide information on the IT resources used, primary documentation for information systems, information on the fulfillment of requirements for information protection and registration of property and intellectual rights.

The inventory will last until April 2021. Based on the results of the event, the Ministry of Digital Development will submit to the government a report on the results of the work carried out, as well as proposals for improving the mechanisms for accounting and registration of IT resources and rights to them.
