The importance of urban development is supported by forecasts from various sources. By 2050, 68% of the world's population (approximately 6.7 billion people) are likely to live in urban centers. The global smart cities market by 2025 may grow to $2.6 billion.
Among European cities with the most developed technological infrastructure, Moscow ranks 9th, ahead of Berlin and Paris.
