As part of the study, Deloitte surveyed telecom employees in nine countries around the world — the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, China, India, Japan, Brazil and Australia. The survey was conducted at the end of 2020, the previous Deloitte survey was conducted in the first quarter of 2020.

If in the previous survey the majority of participants stated that they saw the need for the development of 5G and Wi-Fi 6, but believed that this need will come in the next three years, now the majority of respondents believe that this need is already here - (69% - 5G , and 58% - Wi-Fi 6).

50% of respondents said the COVID-19 pandemic has already forced their organizations to accelerate their wireless investments. Companies are now focusing on more advanced 5G and Wi-Fi 6 technologies, which executives see as increasing their ability to deal with current and future business disruptions, and as an opportunity to embrace new technology solutions.
