According to the study presented by the NAFI Analytical center in July 2020, more than half of Russians (56%) use digital channels for personal finance management, such as mobile banking or internet banking.

  • Young Russians aged 18-24 are the most active users of digital banking services: 75% use banks’ mobile applications or Internet banking, and mobile banking in this age group is much more popular than Internet banking (72% vs. 49%).
  • Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District are the leaders in terms of digital banking services use.
  • Digital banking is more in demand among the residents of Russian capitals: 57% of residents of Moscow and Saint Petersburg use it. In rural areas digital banking services are used by fewer people (49%).
