According to the report prepared by IDC, the growth of the smartphone market in Russia in the second quarter slowed down compared to the first quarter. Second quarter supplies totaled 6.7 million units. At the same time, the value of supplies reached $2.1 billion - two-thirds more than in Q2 2020.

32.8% of the market was occupied by Xiaomi’s flagship brand, and almost 5% was occupied by Pocophone. Key phone supplies experienced an increase of 13.4% year over year and reached 1.6 million units. The share of the former market leader Samsung in Q2 decreased to 28.3%.

The launch of the Apple iPhone 12 series in Q4 2020 stimulated people’s interest in 5G-enabled devices. Sales of 5G-enabled Android phones grew 17% in Q2 2021. Currently, 5G-enabled Android devices account for 70% of the total market in Russia.
