At the end of May, Alfa-Bank registered Alfa-Digital, an IT company. The company will become an IT development center of the bank, and in the future the new company will become a provider of digital solutions for external customers.

 
 About 1.2 thousand employees, including developers, analysts and other staff, will be transferred to Alfa-Digital by the beginning of 2023. In the future, the team can grow to 5,000 specialists (in total, Alfa-Bank has 7.1 thousand employees working in IT and Digital areas). The bank also plans to transfer part of its software solutions to the register of Russian software, and then transfer them to the balance of Alfa-Digital.

 
 Special of the bank explain that “the transfer to an IT company will also enable employees to receive benefits from the state.” Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Sovcombank, Tinkoff Bank already have similar IT companies.

 Earlier, the Central Bank stated that the regulator supported the recognition of banks as IT companies. Over the past three months, the number of IT companies in the register of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media has grown by 40% and exceeded 26,000.

The joint venture for the development of the <a href="https://ict.moscow/en/card/klyuch-rostelekom/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Unified Biometric System (UBS)</a> operated by <a href="https://ict.moscow/en/cards/?tags=Rostelecom" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Rostelecom</a> may include several major banks in Russia. This issue was discussed on July 29 at a meeting with market actors held the Central Bank, Kommersant reports.

 
 According to the newspaper, the decision to include large banks in the joint venture has been made, further details are to be worked out. However, the list is not final, according to experts.

 
 It was originally intended to create a joint venture with only Rostelecom and Sberbank in it, newspaper’s sources said. As for now, Sberbank has "lost its monopoly" under pressure from the Central Bank. “The regulator is worried about market competitiveness, while Sberbank occupies half of the market. Considering such dominance, it is logical that the positions in the competitive environment are strongly skewed,” one of the experts in the consulting market explained to Kommersant.

 
 The joint venture is tasked with collecting about 20 million samples, including photographs and voice recordings, over the next two years. So far, UBS has collected data from 164 thousand Russian citizens for the past three years. By 2030, the number of Russians who have submitted their biometric data is expected to increase to 50 million, officials <a href="https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/4772708" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">reported</a> previously.

Alfa-Bank will&nbsp; become the sole owner of the Netmonet cashless tipping service. This is reported by Forbes with reference to two sources close to the bank.

 
 Co-owner of the service <a target="_blank" href="https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011461868426">Georgy Vysotsky</a> said that Netmonet "is preparing for an investment deal",&nbsp; which will be closed by the end of February. Details of the deals are not yet disclosed.
