Moscow plans to launch a fare payment system with Face Pay in ground transport system in 2023.

 
 “We want Face Pay to be launched on the Moscow Central Circle this year as well. And the next stage will come in 2023, the system will be implemented at the Moscow Central Diameters, some of its elements will be installed in the ground transport,” Deputy Mayor and Head of the Department for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov explained.

 
 According to Liksutov, about 70 thousand people have already registered their biometrics to pay fares using Face Pay. About 5.5 thousand passengers use the service. Maxim Liksutov assumes that in the next two to three years the number of passengers who use Face Pay will increase to 15%.

Moscow to Launch Face Pay in Ground Transport System in 2023

As part of the creation of a digital twin of Moscow, the Traffic Management Center of Moscow's Government (CODD) has completed the digitization of 6.8 thousand km of streets with all transport infrastructure facilities.

 
 This will make it possible to better predict the effects of road construction, readjustment of traffic lights and changes in traffic patterns, the Department of Transport of the capital clarifies. It is also reported that:

 <li>created 1.5 million passports of transport objects (traffic lights, signs, steles, etc.);</li>
 <li>14 TB is the volume of finished panoramas;</li>
 <li>2.9 million is the number of shooting points, while panoramas are created every three meters.</li>
</ul>

 
 Earlier it was <a href="https://tass.ru/moskva/12951873" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">reported</a> that the creation of a digital model of Moscow streets is planned to be completed in the first half of 2022.

CODD Digitizes More than 6 Thousand km of Moscow Streets

The Troika virtual transport card has been launched in Moscow. It allows paying for all types of public transport in the city using an Android smartphone.

 
 The Troika virtual card is available in the Moscow Metro app. While it is possible to subscribe for 30 days or have a unified pass (30, 90, and 365 days), the Wallet function is planned to be added next year.

 
 To pay for travel using the virtual Troika, you need to bring your phone to the turnstile or validator with a special sticker about the possibility of accepting bank cards. To pay, you do not need to unlock your phone, enter passwords or use biometric data: the pass is executed automatically. To do this, you must first select Google Pay or Samsung Pay in the smartphone settings as the main method of contactless payment.

Virtual Transport Card Troika Launched for Moscow Public Transport 

The Moscow Metro, VTB and Yandex Go, within the framework of the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) concept, have started testing a new product - the MultiTransport unified transport subscription. It will unite different transport operators that provide transportation services into a single digital ecosystem with multimodal travel. The platform is supposed to help passengers choose the most suitable travel option.

 
 The first stage of testing will involve all seven types of public transport (metro, monorail, MCC, MCD, ground transport) and taxis. At the same time, users are offered three types of tariffs, which include 5, 10 or 20 taxi rides, as well as an unlimited subscription for public transport.

 
 The service will appear in the Moscow Metro or Yandex Go applications, and in the future they will add carsharing, scooter and bicycle rental. Also, in the future, the service will take into account traffic congestion, comfort, quality and offer the most convenient route option with an indication of the total amount of the trip.

Moscow Tests MultiTransport Service 

An intelligent system for reducing traffic jams Edge Vision is being tested in Moscow by the Moscow Transport Department.

 
 It was installed at two crossroads in the Novomoskovsk administrative district. Edge Vision collects online traffic data, processes it, and then sends a signal to switch traffic lights. The key feature is that all calculations take place on-site and do not require the transfer of big data to the data center.

 
 According to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov, during the first tests "it is already possible to predict an improvement in traffic by 10-20%." Intersection capacity is also projected to increase by 25% during normal times.

The mobile application helps passengers get to a given point in Moscow, allowing them to calculate the travel time, the number of transfers and the total cost of the trip, as well as build multimodal routes taking into account all possible modes of transport (public transport, bicycles and a private car).
