The Radio Research and Development Institute (a structure of the Ministry of Digital Development) and Huawei announced the start of testing of 5G+ equipment in the 6.4-7.1 GHz bands. The tests are aimed at evaluating the functionality of the new technology and its application in the city.

 
 The tests will determine the maximum data rate for various radio signal propagation paths. Experts of the research institute clarify that 6 GHz frequencies and the use of new equipment can partially compensate for the inaccessibility of the 3.4-3.8 GHz bands.

 
 According to Oleg Ivanov, General Director of the Radio Research and Development Institute, the tested bands can give operators “additional 700 MHz in the most attractive middle range. This is the golden mean between coverage and high speeds.”

 
 The Radio Research and Development Institute will present the test results to the State Commission for Radio Frequencies at the end of the first quarter of 2022.

 Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Digital Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to submit proposals on research and development activities in the field of 6G to the government by February 14. Radio Research and Development Institute and Huawei to Testing 5G+ Equipment in the 6 GHz Band in Moscow

In November 2021, Nokia may sign an agreement with the Ministry of Digital Development on the localization of the production of base stations of the LTE standard in Russia. According to Interfax, negotiations on localization are also underway with Ericsson and Huawei. The ministry declined to comment.

 
 In mid-September, Kommersant newspaper <a href="https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/4988071" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">announced</a> that IKS Holding could become Nokia's partner in localizing production. The possibility of transferring closed development licenses to the Russian side was also considered. In addition, ZTE is considering localization, but it is not yet clear who the company sees as a Russian partner.

 
 In August, the Ministry of Digital Development <a href="https://tass.ru/ekonomika/12067657" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">announced</a> an agreement on the localization of base stations with two manufacturers of network equipment at once, but no specific companies were named. Rostec and AFK Sistema were considered as Russian partners. The ban on the use of foreign LTE base stations in the Russian Federation will enter into force in 2023. After that, operators will be required to build networks using domestic equipment.

 
 On November 19, it <a href="https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/5080226" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">was reported</a> that the heads of MTS, MegaFon, Beeline, Tele2 and Rostelecom appealed to the Ministry of Digital Industry with a request to create a working group to coordinate the implementation of Russian stations.

Nokia May Sign an Agreement on the Localization of LTE Base Stations Production in Russia

Members of the Supervisory Board of ANO Digital Economy approved the development strategy of the organization until 2024. The main directions will be “Digital transformation of industries and companies”, “Safe open infrastructure”, “Human resources for the digital economy”, “Effective regulation” and “EEF and international cooperation”, the press service of the Russian government reports.

 
 At the same time, communications, the IoT and AI are identified as priority projects for implementation. According to Deputy Government Dmitry Chernyshenko, the key goal of the Digital Economy's strategy is “a billion IoT devices by 2025”.

 
 It is also planned to deploy experimental legal regimes, including unmanned vehicles and other promising experimental projects, including assistance in scaling their application, promoting Russian digital solutions and Russian digital leaders in the international market.

Strategy of ANO Digital Economy through 2024 Determined

The Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI) and Huawei have launched the Eurasia 5G Trainings educational program, which will train specialists for the 5G sphere, Cnews reports.

 
 The program includes lectures on such issues as the main trends and prospects of 5G, an overview of the 5G market and industry, the principles of building 5G networks. The academic year consists of 25 courses, during which time experts from MTUCI and Huawei will conduct trainings on 5G at technical universities in Eurasia.

MTUCI and Huawei Launch 5G Training Program

The T1 company (formerly Technoserv), specializing in systems integration, intends to start production of its own servers based on Intel processors, using Huawei technologies, RBC reports.

 
 Huawei did not comment on information regarding T1, noting that today their technologies are used in servers manufactured by the Sitronics Group.

 
 According to the newspaper's sources, at the start of production they will use an x86-architecture processor, but T1 can also go along the path of developing its own server from scratch. There is no final decision on this issue yet, but the key task of the company is to create a server that will be included in the register of Russian equipment.

 
 As the representative of T1 said, the company is developing its business, including by entering new markets and developing new directions.

Digital Banking Maturity 2020

The Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge of the Higher School of Economics analyzed the dynamics of the spread of digital technologies in organizations of the main sectors of the economy and the social sphere over the past five years. Statistical data for 2015–2019 show that organizations that perform various types of economic activities are increasing their digital potential.

<ul>
	<li>Broadband access. By the beginning of 2020, 86.6% of organizations used broadband Internet (+7.1 since 2015), and one third of organizations used high-speed Internet (30 Mbps and higher). The demand for connection to the Internet has been has been stabilizing since 2018, and the main changes occur in the acceleration of Internet connection speed.</li>
	<li>Cloud services. There is a 1.5-fold increase (from 18.3 to 28.1%) in the number of users of cloud services providing remote access to information resources.</li>
	<li>Automation of business process management. Every fifth organization uses information systems for automatic optimization of enterprise resources, the integration of production and supply and sales operations (ERP, CRM, SCM systems). Compared to 2015, the demand for such systems has increased by one third.</li>
	<li>RFID technology. The technologies of contactless automatic identification of objects using RFID tags are least commonly implemented so far. But in 2019 the annual dynamics exceeded the growth over the 2015–2018 period.</li>

Digital technologies considered in the research&nbsp;are universal in nature and are used in organizations of various types of economic activities. At the same time, industry differentiation in terms of the demand is still high.The leaders are the organizations in telecom and IT industries, creating conditions for the digitalization of other sectors of the economy and the social sphere. The financial sector, trade, manufacturing, hotel business and food service sector also show rather high rates.
