Global city ranking 2019 prepared by 2thinknow with 500 benchmark cities classified and ranked according to 162 performance indicators in three blocks: Infrastructure for Human Capital, Market Capacity and Cultural Heritage. Experts compared gross regional product figures, number of representative offices of international companies, standard of living and education, presence of industrial clusters and own city brand. Specialists focused on the policy of the authorities in IT development, wireless networks and e-payment system, too.

In 2019 Moscow has moved up 10 spots (from 48th to 38th). To put that in context: in 2012, Moscow was 192nd in this survey.
