 The Troika virtual card is available in the Moscow Metro app. While it is possible to subscribe for 30 days or have a unified pass (30, 90, and 365 days), the Wallet function is planned to be added next year.

 
 To pay for travel using the virtual Troika, you need to bring your phone to the turnstile or validator with a special sticker about the possibility of accepting bank cards. To pay, you do not need to unlock your phone, enter passwords or use biometric data: the pass is executed automatically. To do this, you must first select Google Pay or Samsung Pay in the smartphone settings as the main method of contactless payment.

Virtual Transport Card Troika Launched for Moscow Public Transport 

Moscow State University officially launched the University Quantum Network. It is built on the basis of the ViPNet QSS quantum cryptographic system for generating and distributing keys. The network was developed by the Center for Quantum Technologies of the Physics Faculty of Moscow State University and the <a href="https://infotecs.ru/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Infotecs</a> company.

 
 The network connects five quantum devices and 20 telephones. The devices are installed on the territory of the university on Lenin Hills, Mokhovaya Street, as well as in the Infotecs office in Otradnoye. The maximum length of the communication channel is 40 km. According to the developers, the system ensures complete secrecy of the generated encryption keys.

 
 The network allows connecting with new members. It is assumed that this will allow the full use of quantum key distribution technologies.

 
 The creation of a quantum-protected segment at Moscow State University began in December 2020. University Quantum Network Launched in Moscow

Among the organizations with a number of employees from five to 10 thousand people, AI technologies have been introduced only in every fifth company, and every twentieth enterprise with less than 250 employees, according to a <a href="https://issek.hse.ru/news/542527560.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">study</a> conducted by the Higher School of Economics.

 
 Analysts point to a low level of AI penetration in Russia. So, last year, such technologies were used by only 5.4% of the total number of companies in Russia. Most often, enterprises use AI for management and production tasks. These are data mining, virtual assistants and chatbots. The use of computer vision is less common.

 
 According to the study, in the future, businesses will demand more complex solutions that integrate AI with other digital technologies, including the Internet of Things, 5G and distributed ledger systems. As specified, this will allow the transition from fragmented to systemic assimilation of AI technologies along the entire value chain.

Cybersecurity company Positive Technologies will list common shares on the Moscow Exchange. The securities will be traded from December 17 under the POSI code with settlement in rubles.

The revenue of large Russian telecom operators in 2021 may increase by 5-6% due to going beyond traditional cellular services and developing ecosystems, according to Moody’s data.

 
 The new solutions by operators will give a boost to the market while there is no massive 5G penetration in Russia, analysts say. The expansion of the range of services will allow cellular companies to achieve annual stable growth of 3% in 2022–2023.

Telecom Operators Could Increase Revenues by 6% with Ecosystems

Sberbank plans to sell part of the ecosystem companies within two years.

 
 “We limit the range of what we do. We have outlined a number of businesses for sale and have already begun to sell some of them or have already sold them,” said Sberbank CEO German Gref.

 
 Specific companies and exact dates of the sale are not named. At the same time, Sberbank intends to bring another “part of the businesses” to the stock exchange. The company also plans to develop non-financial business in the CIS countries.

Sberbank to Sell Part of its Ecosystem within Two Years

Telecom-company DMTEL has compiled a <a href="https://dmtel.ru/reports/moscow-2021/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">rating</a> of the quality of communication services of the "Big Four" operators in Moscow. For this, from October 11 to November 2, it carried out measurements on a route with a length of about 3892 km and used for comparison the ratings of operators, calculated on the basis of integral assessments of the quality of services.

 
 Operators were assessed in the “mobile Internet” and “voice communications” categories on a 1000-point scale. According to the final estimates, the places were distributed as follows:

 The authors of the rating note that Beeline has the best quality of telephone communications and the Internet. MegaFon is slightly behind the leader in the quality of voice services. In turn, MTS is less than other of the presented operators inferior to Beeline in terms of the quality of the Internet. Tele2, in the opinion of DMTEL analysts, "is noticeably inferior to competitors in every category of services."

The AliExpress app became the leader in terms of the number of downloads in Russia at the end of 2021. The top 3 also includes the service for finding the location of friends Zenly and the video editor CapCut, according to a study of the mobile data analytics platform App Annie.

 The service will appear in the Moscow Metro or Yandex Go applications, and in the future they will add carsharing, scooter and bicycle rental. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation will work to create a single digital circuit and datasets in order to train artificial intelligence to support medical decision-making.

Rosatom Plans to Acquire a Controlling Stake in Processor Developer Elbrus 

Intema (a subsidiary of MTS) will acquire the developer of computer vision systems VisionLabs. The deal will amount to about $95,2 million (7 billion rubles). According to the press service of Sberbank, the total amount may change based on the achievement of VisionLabs' targets within three years.

 
 The structure of the deal is as follows: MTS will buy back a 51.77% stake from the founders of VisionLabs, 25.07% from Sber, and 23.16% from Sistema's venture capital fund Sistema VC. Currently, Intema has signed a binding agreement and is awaiting regulatory approvals. The deal is expected to close in 2022.

 
 VisionLabs will continue to operate independently, as well as maintain the same business strategy and team. Co-founder of the company Alexander Khanin will remain the head of the board of directors. MTS to Acquire Facial Recognition System Developer VisionLabs 

The companies of the Moscow IT telecom industry have transferred about $1.7 billion (129.4 billion rubles) to the budget of the capital as the main tax payments. This is 20% more than last year, said Kirill Purtov, the Head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.

 
 “IT-telecom accounts for about seven percent of the total volume of corresponding tax revenues to the Moscow budget,” he explained.

 
 He specified that over 15 thousand companies and individual entrepreneurs work in the IT sector of Moscow. In total, more than 6% of the total employed in the capital work in this sector.

Tax Receipts to the Moscow Budget from IT Telecom Companies Increases by 20% in 2021

Online auto loan service CarMoney is planning an IPO in the second half of 2022. The founder of the company, Anton Zinoviev, said that at first it is planned to attract financing through a pre-IPO, and then conduct an initial public offering on one of the Russian stock exchanges.

 
 The size of the package to be sold has not yet been determined. At the same time, the company intends to raise about 2–2.5 billion rubles. At the moment, the necessary changes are being made to the legal structure of CarMoney.

 
 There are currently no public microfinance organizations (MFOs) in Russia. If it goes public, CarMoney could become the first Russian MFO with a listing on the exchange.

CarMoney Heads to IPO in 2022

The Bank of Russia plans to prepare a roadmap for the implementation of open APIs and submit it for discussion with fintech companies and other market participants.

 
 In addition, the Central Bank intends to create unified industry rules for data exchange, as well as requirements for compliance with information security. The regulator is also considering the possibility of creating a unified environment for establishing general principles and approaches to the design, creation, implementation and use of open APIs.

 
 The decision to create such an environment will be made based on the results of the discussion of the concept.

 
 At the moment, the Central Bank has approved four standards for open APIs, which are advisory in nature, they affect several areas: obtaining information about the account, payment API, public data, information security. Today, Sberbank, VTB, Alfa-Bank, Raiffeisenbank, Rosbank, SKB-Bank provide their software interfaces on the market.

 
 The first open API standards <a href="http://www.cbr.ru/press/event/?id=8223" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">were released</a> in October 2020. With their help, banks and fintech companies can set up a seamless exchange of customer data with his consent.

Bank of Russia to Create a Roadmap for Implementation of Open APIs

The volume of foreign investments in the development of infrastructure of industrial parks and technoparks in Russia over the past 10-11 years amounted to $15 billion.

 
 At the moment, 379 industrial parks and technoparks have been created in Russia, 14.5 thousand companies are their residents. Every ninth of them is a foreign enterprise from Germany, Japan, Italy, Finland and other countries, said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexei Bezprozvannykh.

 
 Earlier, it was <a href="https://ict.moscow/en/news/russian-government-to-cover-50-of-private-industrial-technology-parks-costs/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">reported</a> that from next year, private industrial technology parks will be compensated for 50% of the costs of creating infrastructure and purchasing equipment.
