The Situation Center of the Road Traffic Organization Center (RTOC) is a computing center used for forecasting road traffic situation based on big data, regulating traffic flows using IT systems, and critical road infrastructure monitoring. It collects and analyzes all data related to the traffic movement in Moscow. The total storage capacity is 16 petabytes. Every day RTOC receives over 400 million data packets (information from vehicle detectors, photo and video recording complexes, cameras, tracking devices of onboard equipment of rolling stock, public transport data). The information is processed on the servers of the Intelligent Transport System of Moscow.

All Moscow ground transport vehicles, taxis and carsharing vehicles, municipal machinery, rental bikes and scooters are equipped with the GLONASS system. This data is also sent to RTOC.
