 The Ministry of Construction presented the data of the new Urban Economy Digitalization Index ("IQ of cities") for 2020. Moscow took the first place among the million-plus cities (103.25 points). The second and third places were shared by Voronezh (63.38) and Kazan (60.93), respectively.

 
 The index contains 47 indicators and is calculated in ten areas: urban management, smart housing and communal services, innovations for the urban environment, smart urban transport, intelligent systems of public and environmental safety, tourism and services, intelligent systems of social services, economic condition and investment climate, infrastructure of communication networks.

HeadHunter will invest $5 million in a platform for legal entities with self-employed YouDo Business, a joint platform with YouDo. The funds raised are planned to be used to develop a B2B platform.

 
 As a result of the deal, HeadHunter became a minority shareholder in YouDo. The size of the acquired share has not been disclosed. According to Denis Kutergin, the founder of YouDo, the service plans to take a leading position in the part-time market. He also noted that since the beginning of cooperation with HeadHunter, YouDo's B2B direction has grown several times.

YouDo Business Platform to Raise $5 Million from HeadHunter

Skolkovo resident Data Matrix, which specializes in processing and analyzing clinical data, received a positive conclusion on its digital sandbox from ANO Digital Economy.

 
 This is the first of three necessary approvals issued by the regulator to make exceptions to the draft bill to Experimental Legal Regimes (EPR). As part of the sandbox, the company investigates routine clinical practice and collects anonymized medical data for further processing and analysis.

 
 This legislative exemption is expected to increase knowledge about medicines, accelerate research on drug efficacy and safety, reduce costs and duration of trials, and expand patient coverage. With the help of the results obtained, they will be able to form impersonal analytical reports, which will be used in the future by medical, pharmaceutical and research organizations.

Yandex will open a new office in Europe and will start operating in Prague by the end of the year. The staff of the new office will work on adapting the company's products for international markets and supporting European clients.

Chatbot Constructor Lia has raised $308,330 (22 million rubles) from TealTech Capital. As a result, Lia's share of 20% passed to the investor. Other details of the deal were not disclosed.

Database management system (DBMS) developer ClickHouse, founded by Yandex, has raised $250 million in the second round of investments. According to the results of the round, the company's valuation reached $ 2 billion. Yandex-Based Startup ClickHouse Raises $250 Million 

In the third quarter of 2021, the revenue of the non-financial business of Sberbank’s ecosystem grew 2.6 times, to $668 million (47.6 billion rubles). Revenue for nine months on the same balance sheet item increased to $1.7 billion (121.7 billion rubles). This is 2.8 times higher than the result of the same period in 2020.

 
 The turnover in the e-commerce segment in the third quarter amounted to $393 million (28.1 billion rubles), which is 10 times more than last year. The revenue of companies in the entertainment industry amounted to $47.7 million (3.4 billion rubles), an increase of 1.8 times year-on-year. The Health segment showed revenue growth in the third quarter of 2021 by 70% year-on-year, to $14 million (1 billion rubles).

Sberbank Reports 2.6 Times Growth of Non-Financial Business Revenue in Q3 2021

Russian telecom operator MTS and Ericsson announced cooperation in the creation of dedicated technological 5G-ready networks for industrial enterprises of the Russian Federation.

 
 The goal of the partnership is the joint development of Industry 4.0 based on the infrastructure of LTE and 5G networks. As part of the agreement, Ericsson will provide the technology solutions required for the deployment, while MTS will provide implementation and support. At the same time, the operator creates ready-made solutions for enterprises engaged in "the most demanded industries - mining, metallurgy, fuel and energy complex, petrochemistry, energy, mechanical engineering, transport logistics."

VK Group Reports 41% Net Profit Growth in Q3 2021

Skillbox bought 90% of the Brazilian online school Mentorama. The parties do not disclose the terms of the deal but it could range from $10 million to $20 million, Forbes reports with reference to the former co-owner of Skillbox Andrey Anishchenko.

 
 The Mentorama deal will help Skillbox enter the online education market in Brazil, which may exceed $3 billion in 2023, and bring Skillbox closer to an IPO, experts say.

 The system will reveal corrosion, dents, graffiti, contamination, and other damage to noise protection screens. AI algorithms will work with data received from a device installed on a car, which contains a camera, a GPS module, a microcomputer, and a light sensor.

 
 When the car drives along the noise barriers, the device continuously records video, geodata and light levels. The data is analyzed by a neural network that detects defects in road infrastructure facilities. The creation of the system was based on the results of an assessment of the screen structures at the first stage of construction of the M-12 Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod - Kazan highway.

Avtodor and Moscow University Develop AI Solution for Monitoring Road Infrastructure

The Ministry of Construction presented the data of the new Urban Economy Digitalization Index ("IQ of cities") for 2020. Moscow took the first place among the million-plus cities (103.25 points). The second and third places were shared by Voronezh (63.38) and Kazan (60.93), respectively.

 
 The index contains 47 indicators and is calculated in ten areas: urban management, smart housing and communal services, innovations for the urban environment, smart urban transport, intelligent systems of public and environmental safety, tourism and services, intelligent systems of social services, economic condition and investment climate, infrastructure of communication networks.

 
 The index "IQ of cities" was developed by the Ministry of Construction of Russia in 2019 together with the Moscow State University as part of the departmental project "Smart City" as well as national projects "Housing and Urban Environment" and "Digital Economy".

Moscow Tops the Rating of Smart Cities in Russia

Telecom operator MegaFon and Moscow-based private equity company Kismet Capital Group have agreed to create an independent tower infrastructure operator on the basis of Tower One (subsidiary of MegaFon) and Vertical (operator controlled by Kismet Capital Group).

 
 The new structure will unite 17 thousand towers and support structures of the Tower One, as well as more than 5 thousand Vertical’s facilities, and may become the largest independent player with more than 22 thousand towers.

 
 MegaFon's share in the merged company will be 25%. Kismet Capital Group will receive more than 65% and will have five out of seven representatives on the board of directors (the remaining two will be for MegaFon). It is assumed that neither MegaFon nor any other telecom operator will be able to gain control over the new structure. Еhe deal will be closed presumably by the end of 2021.

MegaFon Transfers its Tower Assets to an Independent Operator

Kaspersky Lab has become the holder of more than 80% of shares in Brain4Net, which develops solutions for telecom operators. The rest shares will be reserved for the founders of the company.

 
 The sellers were Rostelecom as well as venture funds Typhoon Digital Development and LETA Capital. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

 
 As the result of the deal. Kaspersky Lab plans to offer customers not only information security services but also secure telecom solutions, such as a set of cloud-based security services, a threat detection and response system across the enterprise infrastructure.

Complexes of photo and video recording on Moscow roads began to record cars and motorcycles that move between the road stripes, according to the Moscow Department of Transport.

 
 The first camera appeared on Lyublinskaya Street. The recording will show the trajectory of a car or motorcycle. This will confirm that the driver was deliberately moving between road stripes.

 
 The Moscow Traffic Control Center added that traffic rules oblige vehicles to move strictly along the designated lanes.

Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, began testing unmanned drones for delivering small-sized cargo to hard-to-reach regions.

 
 The tests used drones with a range of 300 km and a maximum payload of 200 kg. The tests started in the Moscow region, with plans to continue in Innopolis (Tatarstan).
