The Clinical Decision Support System powered by artificial intelligence technology is a service for doctors that offers three most probable diagnoses and recommended additional medical tests and consultations with specialty doctors on the basis of the complaints and symptoms of patients that were entered into the EMIAS system.
The system includes two modules. The module for making a provisional diagnosis analyzes the patient’s complaints that the doctor enters into the EMIAS system and offers three most probable diagnoses. The doctor can either choose one of them or make his own decision on the basis of personal experience.
The second module helps the physician refer the patient to a laboratory for imaging studies or consultation with specialty doctors to confirm the initial diagnosis. To do this, the system offers the doctor appointment packages for the diagnosis of newly diagnosed diseases. Appointment packages are available for 54 groups of diagnoses, which is 95% of all possible diagnoses at the first visit to the doctor. The doctor does not need to select each medical diagnostic test from the list, now the medical specialist sees them all in one window. The doctor can also prescribe additional medical examinations or shorten the list if the patient has recently got them done ― the doctor will also see this information and the result of the examination in the window of the module. The neural network also helps to avoid duplication of already prescribed diagnostic tests and to see deviations from the norm that should be addressed.
Since October 2020, the system has been launched in all adult polyclinics in Moscow to support the doctor’s work.
