Mos.ID is the login and password of the personal account on the mos.ru portal. Residents can use it as the single identifier to access more than 150 of the city’s digital resources.
For example, using Mos.ID, users can access other city information resources — the ‘Active Citizen’ and ‘Our City’ portals, the ‘City of Ideas’ crowdsourcing platform, the services of the Moscow Electronic School (MES), the ‘Discover Moscow’ portal, Moscow Supplier Portal, Investment Portal and other sites. Residents can also log in to the city’s mobile apps.
The Government of Moscow provides an API for third-party developers. This allows Internet resources focused on providing services to Moscow residents to use the city’s user authorization system for free. For example, Yandex.Realty uses Mos.ID for additional verification of the owner of an apartment. This helps Moscow residents find a buyer for an apartment faster and makes real estate transactions more transparent.
All information of users of the digital ecosystem of Moscow, including personal account data, is stored in the city’s data center. It is located on the territory of Russia and is protected in accordance with the requirements of the regulator in the field of information security. Residents of Moscow can also use additional security settings: enable two-factor authentication, manage linked accounts, view the devices from which the account was logged in, and revoke permissions to access their data.
