‘Moskvyonok’ (the ‘Pass and Meals’ system) is one of the key services of the Moscow Electronic School, a system with an electronic card that students can use as a pass card for educational organizations and museums in Moscow, and pay for meals in the school cafeteria without cash. The card can be used as a universal library card. In kindergartens the card is used by parents when they leave and pick up their child. In addition to the electronic card format, the ‘Moskvyonok’ identifier can be a bracelet or key fob.
The service allows parents to control what time the child came to school and left it and check the child’s meals (including checking the school, order hot meals, and block the purchase of unwanted products in the cafeteria if necessary). The ‘Moskvyonok’ card and other identifiers allow schoolchildren and students of vocational educational institutions to visit more than 90 museums and exhibition halls of Moscow, which are administered by the city’s Department of Culture.
Users can use the service on the mos.ru portal or in the ‘Moscow Public Services’, ‘MES Diary’, ‘My Moscow’ mobile apps, and top up their personal accounts to pay for meals in the ‘My Payments’ service, the ‘Moscow Public Services’ ‘My Moscow’ and in other ways indicated on the project’s website. Also, on the mos.ru portal and in the ‘Moscow Public Services’ mobile app, parents can pre-order certain meals for their children from the school canteen menu.
The card is issued to all students of schools and vocational educational institutions free of charge, and in kindergartens parents can receive up to four service cards for all representatives of children.
