The mos.ru ticketing service enables city residents to buy electronic tickets to museums, theaters, culture centers and other cultural venues in Moscow. The service was launched in October, when, due to the coronavirus pandemic, ticket sales were temporarily carried out only in electronic form. More than 140 organizations are now represented on the platform.
The service enables people to buy tickets to famous theaters and museums - for example, the Tsaritsyno open-air museum, the Moscow Zoo, the Kolomenskoye open-air museum, the Borodino Battle Panorama Museum and also small regional culture centers. Moscow residents can buy tickets online to concerts, exhibitions or other cultural events that take place near their home. And for the institutions of different districts the transition to online ticket sales is a serious infrastructural step forward: in addition to the traditional local audience, they will be able to attract the visitors from all over Moscow.
The proposals of the participants of crowdsourcing projects on the “City of Ideas” platform were taken into account when the service was launched. According to Moscow residents, the development of online services is one of the priorities for the cultural institutions of the city. The opportunity to buy tickets online is especially important for the young audience that is already accustomed to this way of organizing visits to cultural events.
To buy a ticket, a user just has to indicate the last name, first name, patronymic, date of birth and the email address to which the electronic ticket will be sent. The user also has to specify the phone number in order to receive notifications about any changes in the program, transfers or cancellations of events. During the coronavirus pandemic, it is possible to buy a ticket in the service provided that well-spaced seating is organized and maximum occupancy rate is 50%.
