EMIAS

description:

The Unified Medical Information Analysis System (UMIAS or EMIAS) is the key component of Moscow’s unified healthcare platform. It is a single space which covers the outpatient-polyclinic facilities, the city’s maternity hospitals, perinatal centers, palliative care facilities, and emergency and ambulance teams. The process of connecting the inpatient hospitals of Moscow to the platform will be completed soon.

EMIAS provides personalized patient management at all stages — from making a diagnosis to treatment and further patient management. The system aggregates all information about the resident’s health in a single digital framework, and the information is available to both patients and doctors online.

Today EMIAS comprises dozens of city-wide services. The key ones are:

  • booking an appointment with a doctor online — helps to route patient flows by redistributing the load on the medical facilities, helps city residents to save time and allows to book an appointment with a doctor, cancel or reschedule it online through the personal account on the mos.ru portal, on the emias.info portal, in the ‘Moscow Public Services’, ‘My Moscow’ and ‘EMIAS.INFO’ free apps, at info kiosks in polyclinics or by calling Moscow’s service for booking an appointment with a doctor;
  • electronic health record (EHR) — contains information about the patient’s health, ensures continuity of all stages of treatment: diagnostics, outpatient and inpatient treatment, rehabilitation, etc.; it is available to both patients and doctors;
  • the Electronic Prescription service provides support in medical therapy, simplifies medication prescribing and dispensing in pharmacies; users can also get their medications by showing a QR-code or a health insurance card without showing a paper prescription and check the issued prescriptions online;
  • the ‘Temporary Disability Leave Certificate’ — the service automates the issuance of temporary disability leave certificates and their submission to the Social Insurance Fund;
key indicators:
  • The service was launched in 2011
  • The total number of unique patients of EMIAS is more than 17.8 million
  • More than 80,000 doctors work in the system
