The online service ‘Weekend Markets on the Basis of Blockchain’ on the mos.ru portal allows Moscow farmers and business persons to take part in weekend markets free of charge. Since 2013 applications for the provision of a trading space have been accepted online, and since 2019 the blockchain technology has been used to ensure the transparency of this procedure and the inalterability of applications.

Spaces at weekend markets are provided in order of priority — those who applied earlier are given a space. Previously, this caused disputes between participants. Therefore, specialists decided to use blockchain: all applications are recorded in the blockchain network, so anyone can check the records, and the technology guarantees the immutability of applications. Those who did not get a space are put on a waiting list. If free spaces become available during the market’s working hours, they will be offered to the next applicants on the list.

Owners of farms and private households, sole entrepreneurs and legal entities can apply for a free trading space at the weekend market during the application campaign. The campaign starts a few weeks before the opening of the venues and continues for several days.

Users can check applications and their statuses in a special section on the mos.ru portal. Applications include information on the filing date, applicants and the time of status change.
