    Russian tech company <a href="https://ict.moscow/en/cards/?tags=Mail.Ru_Group" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Mail.ru Group</a> will additionally invest $60 million in the AliExpress Russia joint venture, Vedomosti reported citing to the company's press release.
</p>
    <p>
    After approval by the board of directors, the company provided AliExpress Russia with $60.3 million in exchange for additional newly issued shares of the joint venture, the Mail.ru Group said. They plan to use the invested funds to develop the logistics of AliExpress Russia, expand the categories of goods, as well as improve the level of service.
</p>
    <p>
    Mail.ru Group will participate in the round together with a number of other shareholders. Now the company owns 15% of the economic interest and 17.6% of the voting share in the asset. After the completion of the round, which is planned for the 4th quarter of 2021, no significant changes in the shares of the company are expected, according to Mail.ru Group.

    In July 2021, Mail.ru Group <a href="https://ict.moscow/en/news/mail-ru-posts-17-4-growth-in-second-quarter-2021-revenue/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">released </a>its financial results for the second quarter of 2021, according to which the company’s aggregate segment revenue increased by 17.4% year-on-year to $406 million (29.9 billion rubles).

    Moscow-based AI startup <a href="https://zebrains.ru/contact-us" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">ZeBrains </a>has raised $1 million in an investment round led by Ruslan Fazlyev, the founder of SaaS developer Ecwid, and Sergey Bulaev, the founder of media platform Lifehacker.
</p>

    The project’s valuation was estimated at $8 million. ZeBrains intends to use the raised funds to increase the staff of specialists, as well as research and development in the field of artificial intelligence.
</p>

    “I am very optimistic about this deal and am glad that I am joining the business and joining the board of directors of the company”, Ruslan Fazlyev told TAdviser.
</p>

    According to him, the market has a huge demand for and, at the same time, a significant shortage of talent in the field of AI and mobile apps development. ZeBrains is a company that, in such conditions, builds up talent and makes it available to the market, he added.

    The developer of unmanned control systems <a href="https://ict.moscow/en/cards/?tags=Cognitive_Pilot" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Cognitive Pilot</a> registered a subsidiary of Cognitive Pilot Corp. in the US state of Texas. The company will introduce the <a href="https://ict.moscow/card/cognitive-agro-pilot/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Cognitive Agro Pilot</a> to the US market.

Later, the company plans to enter the market for 11 more US agricultural states.

Edtech Startup Novakid Raises $35m to Enter Asian Markets

    Since the beginning of 2021, <a href="https://ict.moscow/en/cards/?tags=Sberbank" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Sberbank</a> has invested $1 billion (73 billion rubles) in non-financial business companies, which makes around 11.5%, or $8.6 billion (630 billion rubles) of the bank's net profit for the first half of the year, Vedomosti reports.

    The company has invested the same amount over three years of ecosystem development (from 2017 to 2019), said the first deputy chairman of the bank's board <a href="https://www.facebook.com/lev.khasis" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Lev Khasis</a>. Over the next three years, the group will spend $4.1-$4.7 billion (300-350 billion rubles) on the development of its non-financial business, the Vedomosti reports citing Reuters.

Sberbank Invests $1 Billion in its Ecosystem

    Moscow-based company RT-Business Development (100% owned by Rostec) plans to create a fund with a capitalization of $40-54 million (3-4 billion rubles) for investments in EdTech as well as HR-Tech projects in the later stages. For this purpose, the company announced a tender for the development of the concept and business model for the existing roadmap, Kommersant reports.

    The contractor will have to indicate the mission and goals of the future fund, develop a methodology for the search and selection of projects for investment, prepare profiles for several of the most promising EdTech projects. Rostec to Create a Fund for Investments in EdTech and HR-Tech

Edtech Uchi.ru Buys a Share in TutorOnline

    Developers from MGIMO, Moscow State University, and MEPHI are currently working on a time capsule service using blockchain technology, RIA Novosti reports. It will allow transmitting digital information to subsequent generations, including passwords to social networks, photos, texts, video messages, and locations of valuable things. The finished project will be presented at the “Archipelago 2121” workshop for startups held from July 27 to August 4, 2021.

    Specialists are currently developing a website for storing the essential information in an encrypted form under the condition to transfer it to specific persons with a certain time lag (within at least 6 months), project lead Dmitry Izvekov noted.

Agro.Club raised $5 million for international expansion

    The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media and Rostec signed an agreement on granting 21.5 billion-ruble subsidy to the state corporation for the development of Russian 5G technology.

    According to the statement by Rostec, <i>“the budget investments in the form of the asset contribution of the Russian Federation to Rostec will amount to 21.463 billion rubles by 2024.     Nevertheless, the company representatives add that the quality of processing by built-in video analytics algorithms “on board” the camera can still be higher, and it can be feasible to use the system if narrow data transmission channels are available, or during short-term projects, for example, at public events (festivals, concerts, etc. etc.).

    Market participants mentioned information security risks, the inability to conduct retrospective video analysis, the use of video from one camera to detect different types of incidents, and the necessity to use the products of certain vendors among the main disadvantages of using cameras with computing modules.

According to the expert, it will be necessary “to implement measures to protect data from copying and transmission by internal violators”.

    An international version of the blockchain tech base<a href="https://ict.moscow/en/projects/blockchain/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"> has become available</a> at ICT.Moscow. The new section presents 52 Russian practices of technology application in various fields. Practices of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, Sberbank, Norilsk Nickel, the Moscow Government, Rostelecom, Kaspersky Lab, Russian Railways, S7 Airlines, M.Video, Megafon and others are included in the section.<br>

    For ease of study, all practices are divided into several categories: FinTech, Public sector, Industry and Energy, Logistics and Transport, Retail, MedTech, E-document flow, EdTech, HR-Tech, Real estate and other.
