Moody’s experts assessed the impact of the pandemic on IT companies

    <p>
    According to the survey conducted by Megaplan, a
corporate CRM system, after the end of the self-isolation regime in Russia most
of the expenses of entrepreneurs were related to software. 32% of respondents claim
that they have increased the expenditures for CRM systems. Cloud
infrastructures were ranked second in terms of popularity (18%), followed by
company websites (16.3%). Least popular were chat bots (5.8% of respondents
invested in them), digital marketing (6.4%) and machine learning (8.7%), RBC
reports.<a></a><a></a>

    In general, 61.6% of entrepreneurs who participated in
the survey began to spend more on IT equipment. 5% of the survey participants
stated that these costs had been reduced, and 3.9% decided to stop using these
tools for reasons of economy.<a></a><a></a>

to the entrepreneurs and leaders of small and medium-sized businesses from the

more than in the previous year. By the end of 2024, the market value will reach
$2.8 billion with an average annual growth rate of 5.6%, PwC experts forecast
in their review of the global and Russian entertainment industry.<b></b><a></a><a></a>

analysts, the Russian video games and e-sports market is 11th in the world and
5th in Europe in terms of size. The number of active players is, according to

note that the COVID-19 pandemic had a positive impact on revenue growth in the
country’s video game industry. According to AliExpress, there was a 2.3-fold
increase in the sales of digital copies of games in April, compared to the same

for purchases of content within games was 23% higher than in March, and the
purchases of the games grew by 22%. PwC analysts predict that in the second
half of the year audience behavior will stabilize and the dynamics will return

Research: The market of video games and e-sports in Russia will grow at 5.6% rate per year

    According to Kearney, Russians’ spending on communications and online services may grow by 31%. In absolute terms, this will be equivalent to an increase of around €7 per subscriber a month.
</p>

    According to a survey of 16 thousand people in 28 countries of the world, conducted by Kearney&nbsp; in the Q4 2019 and the Q1 2020, Russian subscribers spent about €21 per month on these services (two-thirds on communications). Meanwhile, in Eastern Europe, consumers spend on the same almost twice as much - €40 per month, and in Western Europe - €94.

    Kearney has developed an index of consumer connectivity, where Russia only ranked 17th, which indicates potential for growth. The index takes into account the local price levels, consumer income and costs of digital services, including fixed and mobile communications, pay TV, media content and digital entertainment, as well as the costs of connected devices (voice assistants, smart home, video surveillance, etc.).

    Analysts believe that the most promising areas for revenue growth in Russia are entertainment services, the cost of which in Russia can potentially grow by 48% - from the current €6 to €8.9.

Research: Russians’ spending on communications and online services may grow by 31%

    Over the past year, the number of searches related to digital business transformation and specific digitalization tools has grown by 43%. These results were obtained during the analysis of Yandex search statistics, ComNews reports.
</p>
    <p>
    Moreover, there has been an increase in the number search requests for specific brands of digitalization platform providers and software providers.
</p>
    <p>
    Experts note that the increased interest in specific solutions in the field of digitalization has been unevenly distributed. The number of search requests related to CRM systems has grown by 20%, while searches related to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technologies have doubled. In absolute numbers, the number of RPA requests is approximately 13 thousand per month.

    Electronic document management systems (EDMS) are among other technologies, the interest in which has also grown significantly.
</p>
    <p>
    According to experts, there are several reasons why interest in digitalization has evolved so unevenly.
</p>
    <p>
    “In many companies digitalization starts with business processes related to customer interactions. Therefore, when the pandemic started, CRM systems had already been implemented in a significant number of companies. But internal processes turned out to be not digitized and the companies faced the challenges associated with rapid restructuring due to the pandemic”, - says Anton Ermakov, head of the Comindware digital initiatives group.

    Another reason is that during the pandemic the forecasting period has significantly shortened and the demand for digital solutions has grown, allowing to quickly get tangible results. In particular, therefore, the demand for EDMS and RPA - applied technologies that can be relatively quickly integrated into the overall system - has grown.

    There is also increased interest not only in specific solutions, but also in the restructuring of the entire business management model. For example, there is a 2.5-fold increase in the number of searches for “digital transformation”.

Visa: Moscow tops ranking of cities in terms of development of innovative payment methods for transportation services

    According to the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media (Mintsifry), in the first two quarters of 2020, Russian cellular subscribers talked for 231.7 billion minutes. This is more than 12 billion minutes more than in the same period last year.

CityTech: a fresh approach to digital services for residents of big cities

    The idea of ​​creating the “National video surveillance platform” information system <a href="https://ict.moscow/news/v-rossii-obsuzhdaetsia-sozdanie-edinoi-sistemy-videonabliudeniia/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">is being discussed</a> in Russia. The system will unite city video surveillance systems throughout the country and become a unified framework for analyzing incoming video data. The model in which cameras will be equipped with computing modules and independently recognize and record incidents, and only after that send the video stream to data centers, will be taken as the basis for the system.

    The technique, where surveillance cameras with built-in “on-board” video analytics modules are responsible for primary video processing before sending it to the server, is called “edge analytics” - product director of Ivideon, a cloud surveillance systems developer, Zaur Abutalimov explains. In general, experts mentioned both advantages and disadvantages of this approach.

first of all, the use of such a system reduces the load on servers. Secondly,
in the long term, this approach can help reduce the operational costs of both
the data center and communication channels. Thirdly, the video surveillance and

achieved due to the fact that the video stream comes to the camera directly
from the matrix, it is not compressed or additionally processed.

    Nevertheless, the company representatives add that the quality of processing by built-in video analytics algorithms “on board” the camera can still be higher, and it can be feasible to use the system if narrow data transmission channels are available, or during short-term projects, for example, at public events (festivals, concerts, etc. etc.).

    Market participants mentioned information security risks, the inability to conduct retrospective video analysis, the use of video from one camera to detect different types of incidents, and the necessity to use the products of certain vendors among the main disadvantages of using cameras with computing modules.

                    Another challenge in using such devices is the need to modernize and update the databases in each of them. For example, in a conventional video surveillance system, it is enough to replace one camera with another with similar or superior characteristics and, if necessary, separately improve the server capacity - the data will be processed in the data center regardless of which source sent it. But this is not the case with a smart camera.

What approach can prevail in this case is not very clear yet. I believe that a hybrid option will most likely be chosen - in this case new networks will use AI cameras when the need arises, and old networks will be integrated via cheaper communication channels with the central core of the platform.

Andrey Arsentiev from InfoWatch Group says that cybercriminals will be interested in the data in central storages. According to the expert, it will be necessary “to implement measures to protect data from copying and transmission by internal violators”.
