Ozon has <a target="_blank" href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1822829/000119312520295876/d29162df1a.htm">submitted</a> a new version of its F1 IPO prospectus to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to the new version of the prospectus, the company plans to raise up to $948 million in total.

 
 According to the document, during the IPO the retailer plans to place 34.5 million shares, the price per share may range from $22.5 to $27.5. Ozon plans to receive $135 million from existing investors, Baring Vostok and Sistema PJSFC. The banks organizing the IPO can get 4.5 million shares if they exercise their options.

 
 Moreover, in the new IPO prospectus, Ozon announced that it had paid Sberbank 1 billion rubles compensation for a dispute over the termination of the agreement of intent. However, the company did not admit guilt.

 
 According to the organizers’ forecasts, Ozon can be valued at from $4 to $12 billion: Sberbank CIB values the company at $4-8.5 billion, VTB Capital - at $4.7-7.1 billion, Goldman Sachs - at $6-12 billion, and Renaissance Capital - at $5.9-7.3 billion, Forbes <a target="_blank" href="https://www.forbes.ru/tehnologii/413675-ozon-ocenili-dlya-ipo-v-4-12-mlrd">writes</a>.

Researchers from Skoltech and their colleagues from Germany and the United States studied the properties and behavior of a palladium-copper alloy under changing temperatures and hydrogen concentrations. The results of the research can be used for developing catalysts.

 
 Transition metal-alloy materials can have catalytic properties and are therefore widely used in chemical reactions such as the carbon dioxide (CO2) hydrogenation and production of methanol from carbon dioxide.

 
 Skoltech Center for Energy Science and Technology (CEST) researchers Zhong-Kang Han, Debalaya Sarker and Sergey Levchenko, together with colleagues from universities in Germany and the United States, modeled the properties of a palladium-copper alloy using machine learning to predict the distribution of palladium atoms on a copper surface depending on hydrogen partial pressure and temperature.

 
 “Catalytically active sites on the surface are created only by palladium atoms, so it is important to know how many of these atoms will be on the surface at the appropriate temperatures and partial pressures of hydrogen,” Sergey Levchenko explains.

 
 According to him, huge computational resources are required to evaluate the energies of many atomic configurations of palladium within the copper lattice in the presence of adsorbed hydrogen. Therefore, for this study, scientists decided to use a surrogate cluster expansion model that is more convenient to work with. “This model allows to evaluate the energy of millions of configurations in a matter of seconds”.

 
 “Our system is much more complex than those that are usually studied using the method of cluster expansion. In this case, we investigated the alloy surface, where adsorbates from the gas phase affect the stability of various atomic configurations. That is why we used the machine learning method based on compressed sensing (it is widely used for image compression) and developed a highly accurate predictive surrogate model”, - Levchenko says.

 UWB allows you to "point" (without entering a password, as is the case with Bluetooth) to transfer data to nearby devices. Apple is currently the only company promoting UWB. Other manufacturers are watching what it does: if the technology proves to be effective, then over time it can really replace Bluetooth, Telecom Daily CEO Denis Kuskov says.

 
 Experts note that the legalization of UWB in Russia is more of a groundwork for the future. In their opinion, UWB has certain prospects in the market due to its low power consumption and high accuracy of geolocation determination.

 
 Apple tried to legalise UWB in Russia last year and submitted an application to the State Committee for Radio Frequencies for the allocation of frequencies in the 6 GHz range. However, then it was refused, since the ranges overlap with those in which radars operate in Russia.

Apple Rus claims in Russia for frequency bands in the range of 6.2-8.2 GHz

Rostelecom announced the signing of legally binding agreements to acquire LLC Lukoil-inform, which represents the telecom business of the Lukoil group.

 
 "The structure of the transaction involves the acquisition of 50.1% of the shares at the time of the transaction, and also provides for the possibility of the buyer and seller selling call / put options, respectively, for the remaining 49.9% of the shares in 2023," the operator said in a statement.

 
 The transaction amount will be at least 2 billion rubles ($25,9 million). Lukoil will maintain the volume of existing contracts for telecommunications and IT services with Lukoil-inform for the next 5 years.

 
 The deal will strengthen Rostelecom's position in the B2B segment, create a center of excellence for digital development of oil and gas companies and provide an opportunity for additional sales of Rostelecom's digital services.

Moscow EdTech project Dragon Family, which is creating an application for developing children's skills, has raised investments from the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) in exchange for a 5% stake in the company. This is the first outside investment for the startup. The details of the deal were not disclosed. The application is used by more than 25 thousand families, and one fifth of them are US users.

 
 In September Dragon Family received 500 thousand rubles (or $6,5 thousand) from the Moscow Seed Fund as part of the program providing grants to the most investment-attractive graduates of accelerators held in Moscow.

According to iKS-Consulting estimates, Moscow accounts for 70% of the total number of rack spaces located in Russian commercial data centers. At the end of 2019, this figure increased to 72%, as the growth rate of Moscow data centers exceeded the growth rate of the market as a whole.

 
 In 2019 the number of rack spaces intended for commercial operation in Russia increased by 12.3% compared to 2018 - from 39.3 thousand to 44.1 thousand. At the end of 2019, the leaders in terms of rack growth were MTS Avantage data center, IXcellerate and Rostelecom DPC.

 
 The revenues of Russian data center service providers in 2019 reached $451,3 million, which is 27.8% higher than in 2018 ($368,6 million). Market growth rates by the end of 2020 may decline to 10%. In 2021-2023 the market is expected to grow at the level of 21-25%.

The Ministry of Finance
has prepared a package of amendments to the Criminal Code and Criminal
Procedure Code, RBC reports. According to the amendments, the owners of digital
currencies can be imprisoned for up to three years if they have not reported to
the tax authorities crypto transactions amounting 45 million rubles (equivalent to $585 thousand) or above to
the tax authorities at least twice in three years.

 
 The Ministry has also developed
amendments to the Tax Code, anti-money laundering legislation and the Code of
Administrative Offenses in terms of regulating digital currencies and digital
financial assets.

 
 The Ministry proposes to
oblige the owners of cryptoassets (individuals and organizations) to report the
receipt of digital currency, crypto transactions and crypto balances in the
crypto wallet, if the amount of digital currency transactions exceeds an amount
equivalent to 600 thousand rubles ($7.8 thousand) in monetary terms in a calendar year, according
to the new version of the bill (in the previous version - 100 thousand rubles or $36.5 thousand).

 
 Digital currency exchanges
and miners will have to send information on crypto transactions to the Federal
Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation (Rosfinmonitoring). For
failure to provide information to the tax authority on time, a fine of $650 will be imposed.

 
 Moreover, the authorities
want to establish fines for operations with cryptocurrencies: for illegal circulation
- from $650&nbsp; to $1.3 thousand for citizens, from $1300 to $13 thousand for officials, from $2 thousand to $26 thousand for legal
entities; for using cryptocurrency as a means of payment for goods or services
- from $260 to $2.6 thousand for citizens, from $650 to $5.2 thousand for officials, from $1.3 thousand to $13 thousand for legal
entities.

 
 According to the
Ministry, the bills are necessary to implement the norms enshrined in the law
on digital financial assets and digital currency adopted in summer 2020.

Ericsson has deployed Russia’s first 5G standalone network at its 5G
Innovation Hub in Moscow.

 
 The network supports 2100 MHz, 1800 MHz and 3500 MHz frequency bands,
and in the future it will also support the millimeter wave bands. The network
supports Ericsson Spectrum Sharing technology. A test terminal based on
Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF System is used as subscriber equipment.

 
 Based on the end-to-end (e2e) 5G SA network the companies will be able
to test solutions and use cases for 5G technologies in various fields,
including smart cities, industry, self-driving vehicles, telemedicine,
agriculture and virtual reality, the company claims in a press release.

 
 In 5G networks standalone architecture, NR base stations are directly
connected to the core of the next generation network (NGCore). Compared to
Non-Standalone (NSA), 5G Standalone (SA) demonstrates advantages in UL

Ericsson deployed a 5G standalone network in Moscow

The State Duma proposes
to secure the right to the results of AI work for the copyright holders of the computer
programs. The corresponding document was sent to the Ministry of Economic
Development on October 21.

 
 The document proposes to
make amendments to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, according to which
the rights to the intellectual property created with the help of AI (including
audio and video content, analytical materials) will be assigned to its

urban transport will become publicly available, the corresponding changes will
be recorded in the text of the law “About navigation activities”, Vedomosti
informs.

 
 Currently, developers of
applications (for example, Yandex.Maps) receive traffic data directly from the transport
company. According to Yaroslav Fedoseev, a representative of the NTI Autonet
working group, which is responsible for the implementation of the project, now
each public transport bus is equipped with devices for tracking its movement on
the roads.

 
 However, the law “About
navigation activities” has not yet established the procedure for providing data
on traffic and transport company decides whether to open access to data for
developers or not, Fedoseev says. Thus, the data is provided to large
companies, but there are other developers in Russia who are ready to create
competitive applications for navigation, the expert explains.

 
 Fedoseev notes that the
legislative changes will make the transport companies’ data open. The data will
be made available upon request to anyone interested in it.

 
 Autonet, the Ministry of
Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Digital Development,
Communications and Mass Media and the Ministry of Economic Development are responsible
for the execution of this item of the action plan. By October 2021, amendments
to the law should be approved by the Federation Council, according to the

Project Fura raised $2 million

The “Digital Twin” project,
which allows to model the development of a city taking into account all
parameters, received an award from the International Society of City and
Regional Planners (ISOCARP).

 
 The Digital Twin is based
on a photogrammetric model of the city and an archive of panoramas of the streets
of Moscow. The visual picture is complemented by detailed characteristics of
buildings and structures using BIM technologies (information modeling). It
allows to take into account the maximum set of parameters during forecasting
and calculate various scenarios.

 
 The ISOCARP Awards for
Excellence were established in 2005 and encourage urban and regional planning

Moscow “Digital Twin” project received the international ISOCARP award

According to
the estimates of the GSM Association (GSMA), the Russian telecom operators’
expenditures in 2023-2030 for the deployment of 5G networks will be 84% higher
compared to the option in which 3.5 GHz gold band would be used for 5G communications,
Kommersant reports. In Russia operators are offered 4.8-4.99 GHz spectrum.

 
 According to analysts,
by 2025 5G will account for about 43 million connections in Russia. In terms of
these indicators, Russia will approach the world average, but will lag behind
the leading markets.

 
 Also by 2025 5G
will contribute more than $5.2 billion to the domestic economy, which is
equivalent to a 0.3% increase in GDP, and over the period 2022–2030 the Russian
economy will gain in total $60 billion from 5G.

 
 The GSMA
recommends using licensed shared access if it is impossible to free up the 3.5
