    MTS signed an agreement with Polymetal Group (one of the largest producers of gold and silver in the world) for the construction of the first 5G-ready private network in Russia.

    Artificial intelligence (AI) will bring Sberbank about 6% of the planned net profit this year. This was reported by Reuters with reference to Alexander Vedyakhin, the first deputy chairman of the bank's board and head of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

    According to Vedyakhin, about 30 billion rubles (equivalent to $395 million) were invested in AI in 2020. The benefits of artificial intelligence are expected to exceed 350 billion rubles ($4.6 billion) in the next three years. The company plans to apply the technology to nearly all processes in its expanding ecosystem of products. At the same time, the banking business will remain the main driver of profit for the company for now.

The expert shared some details about this initiative: when and how much support will be provided, and which developers will be able to apply for grants.

This is commensurate with the total number of the existing projects of this type in Russia.

    To qualify for grants, the projects of developers will have to meet four main criteria:

    <li>the project should contain a new concept and and effectively solve the problem;</li>
    <li>the project must declare results and indicators that are surely achievable;</li>
    <li>the project must be related to the field of artificial intelligence (determined in the manner prescribed by the Ministry);</li>
    <li>the results of the project should demonstrate the prospects of implementation and the potential for commercial implementation.</li>
</ul>

    Later, according to Sergei Nakvasin, additional requirements for open library projects will be established. The criteria by which the project can be attributed to the field of AI are still being developed. Sergey Nakvasin also explains whether there are some other options for supporting developers, in addition to monetary grants.

    Riki Group and Yandex have concluded a long-term contract for the use of cloud capacities of the Yandex.Cloud platform for the production of cartoons, Kommersant writes. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Riki Group will release cartoons using Yandex cloud platform

    Rostelecom buys 51% in the Big Three company, which specializes in waste processing automation, for $16.6 billion. 
</p>

    The operator has already signed an agreement for the purchase of 1% and call options for 50% of the shares, which it is selling in the first half of 2021. The Big Three will become part of the Rostelecom group as a subsidiary, while retaining the team.

    The main product of the Big Three is the Waste Management platform. This solution will complement the waste processing technologies that Rostelecom already has.

Rostelecom buys waste management company Big Three for $16.6 billion

    An intelligent security system can be introduced at Vnukovo airport in 2021. This was reported by “Agency Moscow” with reference to the press service of the airport.

    The changes will include both the reduction in the size of the equipment, the unloading of antenna-mast structures, dual-purpose poles and their location adjustment, and also camouflaging. In addition, equipment marking is also provided, it will contribute to making managerial decisions in the development of communications in Moscow, the representative of the IT department explains.

    According to Tatiana Sedykh, a representative of the DIT of Moscow, the work in this area takes place in three stages and involves the collection and analysis of data, the creation of laboratory facilities and conducting research.

    According to the expert, at the first two stages a comparative analysis was carried out to assess the levels of electromagnetic fields created by existing and future mobile telephone communication systems in places of residence of the population in six Moscow microdistricts. Moreover, laboratory measurements were carried out, requirements for the laboratory base for research were developed and the research program was developed. Now, during the third stage, full-scale measurements of electromagnetic fields are being carried out, mathematical models of exposure conditions are being developed, and data analysis is being conducted, the representative of the DIT of Moscow explained.

Mail.ru Group and Google launch a joint acceleration program for mobile game developers from Russia and other countries

    The development of 5G until 2024 will cost 208 billion rubles (equivalent to $2.6 billion), of which almost 30 billion rubles ($393 million) will be paid from the budget, according to the roadmap that Rostec and Rostelecom have been developing for over a year.
